Respite House Program
This program was piloted in 1978 in conjunction with the Elwyn Institute. It is a
short-term placement concept (i.e., not exceeding thirty days) in lieu of
institutionalization and offers a temporary home in Brookhaven, Delaware
County, where families can take mentally handicapped members when they
are in need of an interval of rest from the demands of their care.
